For Sale - Bow Top Gypsy Caravan
We have just acquired this charming little 'doors and windows' bow top caravan finished in green paintwork and believed to have been built around 40-50 years ago.
It has spent some time stored in a barn, which it has shared with a number of pigeons and our first job when we got it home was to give the roof a good scrub!
The wagon sits on pretty unders, painted cream with chamfers picked out in scarlet and emerald green. It has easy-clean wheels which are fitted with good tyres and a fully functioning road brake.
There is a pan box at the rear, over which is a cratch rack for Dobbin's dinner, and at the front a good pair of shafts.
The canvas has suffered somewhat from the unwelcome attention of the pigeons and although it appears to be sound and dry, would benefit from replacement.
The front and flanks are richly decorated with chamfers picked out in deep ruby and old gold and some nice artwork depicting horses.
Inside, the rear wall has a delightful little bay window with opening casements below which is a bed-spot measuring 72" x 32" extending to 46", and below this is a double cupboard with a smaller area measuring 57" x 28" which would traditionally have been used for a child's berth.
There are numerous other cupboards and drawers and some display shelves and a small pull out table. The interior has a warm natural varnish finish embellished with old gold scrollwork and chamfers.
In our opinion, this is a pretty little wagon which, apart from possibly having a new canvas - which we could do for the purchaser if desired, just needs a little loving whilst being used and enjoyed by it’s new owners.
